Police: 7 dead after Ohio shooting

PIKETON, OH  — Police are responding to multiple scenes near the Pike and Adams County line where at least seven people are dead.

Law enforcement sources tell NBC4 there are a total of three scenes near Piketon, Ohio along Union Hill Road. Those same sources confirmed seven bodies at those multiple locations.

The Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirms it is sending more than a dozen agents to help in the investigating at the request of local law enforcement. Agents include members of Criminal Intelligence, Cyber Crimes and Special Investigations. The BCI says they are not aware of any arrests or any active shooter investigation.

The Pike County prosecutor is also on location. Western Local Schools, including Peebles High School, are on a semi-lock down due to the investigation. That means no students are allowed outside and doors are locked. Waverly City Schools were on a similar lockdown, but that lock down is now lifted.

Union Hill Road runs off Ohio 32 at the county line.
