FUQUAY VARINA, N.C. – A Wake County dad said his son’s face was rubbed raw while at Fuquay Varina day care, and CBS North Carolina has learned that police in Fuquay-Varina are now investigating the incident.
Agustin Luna said his 4-year-old son, Agustin, came home May 13 with wounds on his face.
Luna said his two sons drew on each other’s faces the day before the incident. He said he attempted to remove the marker but couldn’t.
He explained the markings to the boy’s teacher at Little Angels Preparatory School the next day.
“They peeled his skin off,” Luna said. “They tell me they used a magic eraser.”
Luna’s son said a teacher used a brush and soap on his face to remove the marker.
The boy’s face got worse over the following days and later turned to scabs.
Doctors told Luna the wounds will just have to heal.
Employees at the school would not go on camera for CBS North Carolina but said their focus is on “little Agustin’s well being.”
Luna said the teacher called to apologize but he plans to pursue charges.
According to NC Division of Child Development and Early Education, the day care has no known prior issues.
