After 73 years, Manheim Darlington eyes expansion

DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Wednesday, Manheim Darlington held a hiring event at its new facility.

The auto auction wants to expand and add more than 75 jobs by the end of the year.

“At 9:00 this morning we had a sea of folks that came in we actually had a line,” said General Manager Danny Brawn.

The company also held a ribbon cutting for its new retail solutions facility Wednesday evening

The purpose of the new facility is to make it an easier process for dealers when purchasing vehicles.

“The dealer doesn’t have the hassle of taking that vehicle to the paint guy and then taking it to the detail guy and then taking it to the mechanic before it gets on the lot.  We are going to do that all for them here,” said Brawn as he was talking to an applicant.

Manheim has close to 80 auction houses in the U.S. and the Darlington site will be its third-largest.

“This hiring is going to enable us to be in business for another 73 years.  We are the longest running auto auction in history,” Brawn added.
