17-year-old son cut with a knife in Sumter home invasion

SUMTER, S.C. (WBTW)- The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an afternoon home invasion that happened Friday on Olin Goode Drive where a boy was cut with a knife.

At 1 p.m., the 17-year-old son of the homeowner was alone when he though he heard his father coming home.  When he came out of the bathroom, he saw a white man, six feet tall, wearing a ski mask in the home.

The boy grabbed a knife, but during the altercation, the suspect got the weapon and cut the victim several times.

The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital and there is no word on his condition.
