Police arrest man that robbed Lumberton Dollar General

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW)- The Lumberton Police department made an arrest in regard to an armed robbery that happened on Roberts Avenue at a Dollar General Wednesday.

According to Captain Terry Parker, Kevin Locklear, 25, of St. Pauls was taken into police custody at a hotel on Roberts Avenue on Friday and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police reports say an Indian male entered the store around 9:30 p.m. and allowed several customers to check out in front of him. After the customers left, he pulled a gun,  robbed the store, and fired a shot in the air before he left.

There were no injuries reported.

In the press release from Captain Parker, the police department thanked the public for their help in identifying Locklear from the photo shared through social media and other media outlet resources.

Locklear’s bond was set at $5,000 and he is currently at the Robeson County Detention Center, Parker said.
