Man dragged by car theives in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg Police need your help finding two auto theft suspects.

They say it happened Thursday July 21 at the Energy Market on South Church St.

The victims said a man and woman got in his silver Pontiac Aztec that was left unattended in the parking lot.

The man ran out of the door after he saw the suspects back out of the parking space and yelled, “Stop! Don’t steal my car!”

He says he reached his arms inside the driver’s side and grabbed hold of the steering wheel and the woman driving sped up and dragged him.

The woman then swerved toward the store and hit it, causing the victim to fall from the car.

He was treated at the hospital and released.

The vehicle was later recovered on Foxhall Ct. which is the road behind the store.

They say the suspects were in Dollar General 10 minutes before the carjacking.
