NC pair busted with 100+ bindles of heroin

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Two people are charged after deputies got tips about the sale of heroin in Sneads Ferry.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that members of the Narcotics Division were investigating July 22 when they conducted a traffic stop of 30-year-old Joshua Grappo of Sneads Ferry. Although he told officers he didn’t have any narcotics, K9 Bonito positively alerted to the presence of drugs. Bonito also alerted to drugs in a purse that was in the vehicle. That purse, officers said, belonged to 24-year-old Miranda Myers of Jacksonville. A search uncovered 97 bindles of heroin.

Grappo and Myers were both arrested at the scene. During a search at the Onslow County Jail, an additional 10 bindles of heroin was found on Myers. Charges on the pair are as follows:

Grappo was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell and Deliver Schedule I (Heroin), Maintain a Vehicle for Controlled Substances, Manufacture Schedule I Controlled Substances (Heroin), Felony Conspiracy Manufacture Controlled Substances (Heroin), Felony Conspiracy-Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell and Deliver Schedule I (Heroin), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Grappo’s bond was set at $2,000,000 secured. He was was just recently released in August 2015, from the North Carolina Department of Corrections after serving four years and five months for Trafficking Heroin/Opium.

Myers was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell and Deliver Schedule I (Heroin), Manufacture Schedule I Controlled Substances (Heroin), Felony Conspiracy Manufacture Controlled Substances (Heroin), Felony Conspiracy-Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell and Deliver Schedule I (Heroin), Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Vyvanse), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Myers bond was set at $300,000 secured.
