Fire causes minor damage to Subway restaurant in Windy Hill

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Fire damaged part of a Subway restaurant in Windy Hill early Thursday morning.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue says the fire was discovered after police officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at the restaurant, located at 3300 S. Hwy. 17 in Windy Hill.

When officers got on scene, they noticed the building was full of smoke. People inside a neighboring business say they noticed light smoke carrying over.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue says firefighters found a small fire in the dining room of the restaurant at the soda fountain. the fire was quickly placed under control and damage was contained to an area around the soda machine.
