Police arrest man for shooting in Carolina Forest last year

CAROLINA FOREST, SC (WBTW) –  More than a year later, police believe they caught the person responsible for shooting a 21-year-old in Carolina Forest.

Alexander Lamont Grissett, 20, of Supply, North Carolina was arrested Sunday for attempted murder. Grissett was also charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted armed robbery and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.

Horry County Police were called to a shooting at a home on Stafford Drive on October 2, 2016.

Captain Bob Carr said two people were sent to the hospital and the dog team was called out to investigate.

The incident report says Horry County police responded at 8:11 p.m. to a call about shots being fired in the Stafford Drive area. On arrival, officers spoke with neighbors and located what appeared to be blood on the roadway, blood inside a car, and several items of clothing on the ground covered in blood.

The police report says the victim checked into the Conway ER to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
