New details released in Bucksport murder-suicide

BUCKSPORT, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police released more details Monday on the murder-suicide incident that left four people dead Saturday.

Lt. Raul Denis says HCPD Officers responded to a home on Martin Luther Drive in Bucksport around midnight for a possible murder suicide.

When officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Kristina Burroughs unresponsive, sitting in a chair in the living room with a gunshot wound on the right side of her neck. Investigators found 10-month-old Justice Burroughs, the niece of Kristina Burroughs, in a bedroom. First responders made several attempted to find a pulse on the 10-month-old but were unsuccessful, the report says.

The 2-year-old girl, Katylin Bellamy, was taken to the hospital but the coroner says she died from her injuries Sunday afternoon.

The suspect, 51-year-old Keith Davis, was found laying on his back on the floor of the bedroom with a gunshot wound to the right side of his head. Investigators found a black gun laying on the bed surrounded by blood.

The report says police were called to the home when a fourth victim, who was 11 years old, knocked on a neighbor’s door and told them she and her mother, Kristina Burroughs, were assaulted by the suspect. The fourth victim says she was struck with a firearm and she was taken to the hospital after officers arrived on scene, the incident report says.

The person who called the police to the scene said the suspect was not the father of the children, but the boyfriend of Kristina Burroughs.
