Teen found shot in Myrtle Beach, dies at hospital

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A male teenager was found Wednesday night with a gunshot wound in Myrtle Beach and later died at a local hospital.

According to Lt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of Spivey Street and Kings Highway around 8 p.m. for a reported gunshot victim.

When police arrived they found a young male with a gunshot wound, Crosby said.  The teen was taken to Conway Hospital and later died.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the victim as 18-year-old Atu Williams II  of Myrtle Beach.

Crosby said detectives are working to find out how the incident happened.
