FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – In the Pee Dee the city of Dillon in Dillon county and Nichols of Marion county are still flooded in some areas.
The American Red Cross is currently asking for volunteers and donations to provide relief in those areas.
Lou Palm, the American Red Cross Disaster manager of the Eastern SC chapter said, “Hurricane Matthew was, one could almost say, in South Carolina the second 1,000 year flood in a row. We have taken the lead in the recovery program in both the immediate recovery and providing people some place to stay in the shelters. We will look down the road at what other long term recovery assets we can provide to help the community recover.”
