Coastal Carolina wins 17-7 at Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Coastal Carolina beat Gardner-Webb 17-7 Saturday afternoon at Spangler Stadium.

The Chanticleers, ranked 16th in the FCS poll, improve to 4-2 for the season. De’Angelo Henderson scored for the 32nd consecutive game. However, after scoring early in the fourth quarter – which proved to be the game-winner, he left the game with an injury. He finished with 22 rushes for 101 yards.

Chanticleer quarterback Tyler Keane completed 15-of-18 passes for 100 yards and a score. Keane’s top target was Bruce Mapp, who hauled in a season-high six passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Coastal Carolina will return home next Saturday (Oct. 22) to host Central Connecticut State at 2 pm as art of the University’s Homecoming activities next week.
