Pirateland anniversary raffle to benefit local nonprofit

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW & PRESS RELEASE)- This year PirateLand Family Camping Resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a benefit raffle.

To commemorate, its raffling off a 1966 Mini Shasta Camper to one winner. Proceeds from the raffle will go to the Family Outreach Center of Horry County.

Family Outreach is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing poverty, child abuse and neglect in Horry County. The Executive Director says their services have become even more of a need in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

“One of the things we do is a diaper bank and with these record setting floods and alot of people out of homes. We’ve had a lot of people come to the office just needing diapers. So, it’ll help us keep that replenished,” Executive Director Susan Canterbury said.

The drawing for the raffle will be October 31st with a ceremony later to the winner. You can purchase tickets at Pirateland’s front desk or online at family-outreach.org/raffle
