Florence County Sheriff’s Office participates in hunt for disabled veterans

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – On Wednesday, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office participated in the SCI Wheelchair and Wounded Warrior Hunt where young people were paired up with soldiers with disabilities.

Interested parties were asked to meet at River Neck Plantation at 12:30 p.m.

“It’s therapeutic just being out in Gods creation it just a beautiful place it’s a wonderful time and wonderful experience,” wounded warrior Wesley “Camp” Ross said.

Over the last 18 years, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office has been recognized for taking young hunters out and introducing them to the outdoors.

This year, the sheriff’s office held two major hunting events and numerous other individual hunts throughout deer season.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, 20 young people participated in a hunt last month at Pinewood Hunting Club in Pamlico.

All money raised by the hunts benefits Camp Pee Dee Pride at Francis Marion University.
