International Culinary Institute opens its doors Wednesday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The new state-of-the-art International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach officially opened its doors Wednesday on the Horry-Georgetown Tech Campus near the Market Common.

“Bringing in a facility like this and enhancing the skills of the students that we will be producing doing the different quality of food can really truly make a difference in he over all food scene in the greater Grand Strand area,” Assistant Department Chair Kathleen Hassett said.

The facility features bakery laboratories, training kitchens, an outdoor barbecue kitchen, and a wine cellar and offers programs including baking, food preparation and professional cooking. The culinary institute is also waiting for approval to begin a brew-master and “brewery operations management program.”
