Marlboro County burglary arrests
BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) Marlboro County authorities arrested seven people including one juvenile in connection with three burglaries.
“This investigation lead to the arrest of some very young defendants who were committing serious offenses,” Sheriff-Elect Charles Lemon said.
Lt. Jamie Seales says on September 20, 2016 the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office and Investigators responded to Beauty Spot Road in Bennettsville for a Burglary. They found many firearms had been stolen. The persons charged in that case are: 19 year old Ricky Grady and a juvenile who has been charged as an adult.
On October 21, 2016 Lt. Seales says they responded to Maple St for a burglary. The investigation revealed a safe and numerous electronics were stolen. The defendants charged in that case are Michael Allan Armfield, Devondra Keon Pratt and Dewayne Townsned. Each of them are 17 years old.
Then on October 25, 2016 the MCSO and investigators responded to a burglary on Flamingo Lane in Wallace. Lt. Seales said they found that the victims with numerous stolen guns and electronics. The defendants charged in that case are a juvenile who is charged as an adult, Michael Allan Armfield, 19 year old Devonte Maurice Malachi and 32 year old Tyberious Fennell.
“The guns that we recovered, if placed in the wrong hands could be a major safety issue to citizens,” Sheriff Elect Lemon said. “There are still guns and property that we have not recovered and if anyone has information about the case, please call and your information will be kept confidential. “
Bond was set on all defendants in General Sessions Court with the exception of Fennell (who will be next week). Bond was set at $100,000 Surety on each and required to have GPS monitoring if they make bond. The juvenile is being held in Columbia at DJJ.
Lt. Seales said the charges are different for each defendant based on the case but include burglary 1st, Safecracking, Conspiracy, Damage to Property and Grand Larceny. All Burglaries included either stealing firearms or were committed at night time, hence the Burglary 1st charges.
