Horry County police respond to shooting outside home of Heather Elvis

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) –  Horry County police responded to a home on Sly Fox Trail Wednesday at 10 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

News13 spoke with the Elvis family and confirmed the shooting happened just outside their home.

The report says the victim told police he was taking his trash out in front of his house when he heard a popping sound and felt his trash can being struck.

The victim ran behind his car and was able to made it into his house. According to police, the trash can had 4 holes in it, including entry and exit holes.

Police reports say the victim reported seeing a car on Recreation Road near where it intersects with Sly Fox Trail drive off toward Highway 707 but the man was unable to describe the car.
