MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Shellie Rabon, the organizer of the Mythical & Medieval Fest in Myrtle Beach, joined News13 Now at 9 a.m. on Friday to talk about the festival. In 2016, the festival was held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12 & 13, and it continues for a third day on Saturday. Nov. 19.
Rabon explained there will be many people dressed up in period clothing and performers to help transform people to a different time. Blacksmiths will be making jewelry and other items onsite. There will also be glassblowers, fire demonstrations, games and music.
A local charity will also benefit from any proceeds raised. The following is an excerpt from the festival’s website mythicalmedievalfest.com:
The Mythical & Medieval Fest is a Renaissance themed festival to raise money for Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams. Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams is local non-profit in Myrtle Beach, SC that provides positive activities to children that have been abused, abandoned, or neglected and reside in group homes or shelters.
The festival runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the grounds of RH Acres (formerly known as the Rat Hole) at 3809 Socastee Blvd. in Myrtle Beach. More details can be found on the festival’s website mythicalmedievalfest.com.
