The crash was reported at approximately 3:11 a.m. and occurred on I-95 southbound at mile marker 95, authorities said. The area around mile marker 95 is shut down. Drivers are advised to take U.S. Route 70 as an alternative to I-95 southbound.

Officials said the driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but did not say how serious their injuries were.

Although the truck was carrying chickens, they were not live chickens, officials said. The owner of the truck is Mountaire Farms out of Lumber Bridge.

The crash is under investigation and no official cause has been released at this time. No charges have been filed at this time.
