One person dead, three injured in Marion car crash

MARION, SC (WBTW) – A car crash around 1 a.m. on Saturday killed one person and sent others to the hospital according to Marion Police Chief, Dewayne Teenie.

Marion County Coroner, Jerry Richardson, says the car was heading west toward Mullins on Highway 76 when it ran off the road a little after midnight.

The driver, 22-year-old Raekwon Tyrek Malachi from Florence, was pronounced dead on scene.

Coroner Richardson says the other three people in the car were taken to the hospital. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
