Marion man dies after being struck by SUV, woman charged

LONGS, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Horry County Tuesday morning.

According to the SCHP website, the crash happened just after 9 a.m. on SC 9 near the Aberdeen Golf Course.

A black SUV and a scooter collided and left one person dead.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge identified the victim as Howard Christian Suggs, 39, of Marion.

Edge said an autopsy reveled Suggs died from internal injuries from the crash.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with SCHP, the driver of the SUV is charged with driving too fast for conditions.
