2 arrested on drug charges after driver crashes into brick entrance sign in Darlington

DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Darlington police say they have arrested two people on drug charges after a single car crash near Oakdale.

Lt. Maureen Valazak with the Darlington City Police Department says Deja Mone Lewis from Stone Mountain Georgia was arrested on charges of trafficking crack cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and driving too fast for conditions.

Lorenzo Julius York from Union City Georgia was a passenger in the vehicle and was also charged with trafficking in crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana.

The pair was arrested after the driver struck a brick entrance sign near the Oakdale Community in Darlington, Valazak says.

Records from the Darlington County Detention Center show the two were booked Thursday afternoon.
