First Widespread Freeze Possible Friday Night

A large swath of arctic air is forecast to push south into the Carolinas Friday night. Temperatures will likely drop to near or just below the freezing mark, especially inland.

Freeze watches have been issued for parts of the Pee Dee with temperatures expected to be in the low 30s from 2 am Saturday morning until sunrise.

This ‘first’ freeze comes late to a few inland counties as the average date of the first freeze has already passed.

Temps will struggle to rise Saturday afternoon with highs rising into the mid 50s but temperatures will begin to moderate Saturday night.
